The Rotary Club of Waupaca is involved with over 40 individual projects and activities each year in support of our mission and goals.  These activities include hands-on community service initiatives, grants and scholarships, recognition programs and international pursuits.  Our many projects and activities generally fall into one of seven categories described below.   Be sure to click on "Learn More..." to explore in greater detail what we are up to!

ROTARY YOUTH EXCHANGE (RYE)
The Rotary Youth Exchange (RYE) Committee coordinates and supports the Rotary High School student exchange program.  The overall goal of youth exchange is to help foster international understanding, goodwill and peace.  Each year our Club helps host two to three inbound students, and coordinates the selection and preparation of outbound students from our area.   The committee also supports the Waupaca International Cultural Exchange Committee (WICEC), and it's sister city program between Waupaca and Nio, Japan.  Learn More...

YOUTH EDUCATION
Youth education is an important part of our mission.  The Education Grant Program, is especially exciting, as it provides financial support to teachers who are exploring innovative projects to improve the learning experience for the students. Other activities include support of the high school music program including used musical instrument donations, Title 1 reading program, a third grade dictionary program and the Reality Store Financial Training workshop which teaches high school students about balancing life choices and personal finance.  Learn More...

YOUTH LEADERSHIP TRAINING
Leadership training is another important element of youth education.  Our club provides funding and support every year for individual students to participate in three important learning opportunities: The World Affairs Seminar (WAS) is a unique interactive educational program for high school students developed by Rotarian Dr. Dale Brock and started in 1972. The week-long experience provides an opportunity for international students from a variety of backgrounds to experience new and different ideas and viewpoints brought forward both by their colleagues and by world renowned experts in a non-threatening environment. Badger Boys State is a week-long program at Ripon College which teaches the workings of government “by doing,” where students learn what it means to be a leader, friend, student, athlete, and citizen of the United States. Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) encourages leadership in youth by recognizing and rewarding deserving 11th grade students for their leadership and service activities. Select young people attend an all-expenses-paid camp where they are inspired by a diverse group of exceptional speakers, make life-long friends through fellowship activities, and discuss the ethical and social issues of today.  Learn More...
